About the Valiant VC

The VC of March 1966 is a restyle of the AP6. It has a full-width grille, vertical tail lights and new rear panels on the sedan; the Safari wagon and Wayfarer ute kept the AP6’s rear panels and lights, though the wagon got a new rear bumper. Engines are the 225 slant six and the 273 V8, in the V8 sedan and V8 Safari. The manual is a new all-synchromesh three-speed; TorqueFlite is standard on the Regal and the V8. There was also a heavy-duty Dodge 106 Wayfarer.

Front disc brakes became an option in November 1966 — the first time a Valiant offered them, so a VC may have drums or discs at the front. 65,634 VCs were built before the VE replaced it in 1967 with an all-new body that shares no panels with the VC.
