The FB of January 1960 is a new body, 5.5in longer than the FC on the same 105in wheelbase, with dog-leg windscreen pillars and the first Holden wraparound windscreen — about 30 per cent more glass. The boot lid, and the rear of the utility and van, carried over from the FC. The Business sedan was dropped. Paint was duco until May 1960, then acrylic. The grey motor grew to 138ci (2,262cc), 75bhp, with a heavier clutch and a paper air cleaner, heavier front springing, wider rear leaves and six-leaf springs on wagons.
The brakes are still drums all round, described as enlarged over the FC. The FB was the first Holden with plenum fresh-air ventilation and the first built in left-hand drive for export. It kept vacuum wipers. The FB and EK share the body, so most glass, seals and panels are common between them — listings often say “FB-EK”.
