The CTE igniters and distributor caps from this specific model family fit several early vehicles, mostly ranging from 1916 to 1924:•
Overland: Highly common on early Overland 4-cylinder models (such as the Model 75, 90, and early 4-cylinder light delivery trucks).;
Chevrolet: Used on several pre-1920 overhead-valve 4-cylinder models (like the Chevrolet Series 490 and early Baby Grand models) before Chevy switched permanently to Remy ignition.;
Old Hickory Trucks: Early 1.5-ton trucks built with Lycoming engines.;
Briscoe: Early 1/2-ton and 1-ton commercial vehicles.• Kearns & Collier Motor Trucks: Pre-1920 light utility vehicles running standard Lycoming blocks.;
Lexington & Pilot Automobiles: While some models used the 6-cylinder version (1436F), the 4-cylinder variants frequently cross-referenced the same distributor housing footprint.
The Connecticut Telephone & Electric Company (based out of Meriden, Connecticut) started by making telephones in 1893, but by the 1910s and 1920s, they grew into one of the world's largest manufacturers of automotive ignition systems. Their igniters and distributors (such as the Model 15, Model 16, and related variations) were standard equipment on many brass-era and pre-war vehicles, including classic makes like Overland, Chevrolet, Lexington, Oldsmobile, and Scripps-Booth.
